Not only as a Chamber of Commerce, but also a nationally accredited Main Street program we oversee numerous events, programs, and projects. Irene Melendez

Executive Director

My name is Irene Melendez. I'm Married with three children, several grandchildren, three that live with me.

​

I've lived in Brush my entire life. Attending Brush Schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade graduating in 1979. I obtained my AAS degree from MCC in 1997 and continued my education at NJC in 2016.

​

Besides working I enjoy sewing, making quilts, Aprons and hand bags. I do a lot of cooking at home that I enjoy sharing with friends and family. If I had to pick one of my favorite recipes it home made chicken enchiladas.

​

My spare time is spent with my husband and children, grandchildren, planning trips, parties and holiday dinners.

Executive/Foundation Board of Directors

Our Board of directors oversees the direction of the Chamber. As the organization's community representation and pillars, 9  individuals make up our Chamber Board of Directors/Main Street Board. Furthermore, 5 seats of our Chamber Board serve dual roles as our Executive Board which also serves as our Foundation Board.

Transformational Strategies Committee

The Transformational Strategies Committee is a group of volunteers that works with the Executive Director, and by extent the Chamber, to strategize and execute community programs, projects, initiatives, activities and events to further the goal and mission of the Chamber. While the committee does convene as one strategic think tank, the committee is divvied up into multiple sub-committees/divisions (see below) that focus on certain goals through specific projects. Based on the 4 prong Main Street Approach initialized by Main Street America.
