Greetings Members
I am pleased to announce that I have been hired by the Chamber to fill the position of Executive Director. My name is Irene Melendez I reside here in Brush and have been a resident here for all of my life. I look forward to this new endeavor and helping make Brush an even better community to live in and raise our children and grandchildren. I am the mother of three and grandmother to seven, three of whom live with me. I have a positive outlook on our beautiful community and our schools where I attended, my children attended, and now my grandchildren attend as well. Family is everything to me, as I'm sure it is to everyone, so I want to continue the legacy of our hometown and welcome any input or comments you would like to share.

From a recent seminar for our businesses on emotional intelligence, the term “Emotional Intelligence” is commonly recognized as a tool to achieve success in the workplace. But what is it? How does an individual know if they have it and how can it help in a professional setting? Based upon the book by Dr. Travis Bradberry and Dr. Jean Greaves, Emotional Intelligence 2.0, speaker Cynda Walter, breaks down the concepts into applicable insights for participants to use immediately in their work or personal environment.
